DPM Calls for Strategy to Reduce Gas Losses

Islamabad:Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has directed relevant authorities to create a targeted, time-bound strategy aimed at reducing Unaccounted-for Gas losses.

According to Radio Pakistan, these directives were issued during a high-level committee meeting in Islamabad addressing the increasing Unaccounted-for Gas losses of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited.

Senator Dar emphasized the need for strict protocols to protect public resources and ensure public facilitation. He highlighted the importance of securing energy in Balochistan and restoring Sui Southern Gas Company's operational and financial sustainability.

The committee was briefed on the operational challenges, financial impacts, and rising distribution losses affecting the company's network. Strategic measures were discussed to curb illegal connections, upgrade pipeline infrastructure, improve revenue collection, and stabilize gas supply for legitimate consumers.
