Lahore: Sixty-second death anniversary of renowned classical singer, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan was observed on Thursday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ustad Barkat Ali Khan was the younger brother of Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and elder brother of Mubarak Ali Khan, and he belonged to the Patiala Gharana of music. Born in Kasur in 1908, he received his initial training in classical music from his father, Ali Baksh Khan Kasuri.

Ustad Barkat Ali Khan passed away at the age of fifty-five on this day in 1963 in Lahore. His contributions to classical music continue to be remembered and honored by music enthusiasts and practitioners.
