Constitutional Amendment Under Consideration to Strengthen Judicial Process

Lahore: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced that a constitutional amendment is currently under consideration, aimed at strengthening the judicial process and addressing existing ambiguities. Speaking to the media in Lahore, Tarar revealed ongoing consultations about potentially transitioning from the current constitutional bench to a constitutional court.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister also touched on Article 243, emphasizing that Pakistan is facing security challenges. However, he urged against speculating on the matter. Tarar further shared that he appeared in court today regarding a defamation case filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in July 2017 against the PTI founder.

The Minister expressed regret over the adjournments sought by the PTI founder’s lawyers, which have totaled one hundred and twenty so far. He dismissed the allegations made by the PTI founder against Shehbaz Sharif, describing them as unfounded.
