Commonwealth Observer Group led by its chairman Goodluck Jonathan called on Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja in Islamabad.The Chief Election Commissioner welcomed the Commonwealth Observer Group and appreciated the Commonwealth Secretariat for sending a fifteen-member group along with nine-member support team in Pakistan to observe the general elections.Speaking on the occasion, Sikandar Sultan Raja said Pakistan has adopted an open door policy for international observers and for this purpose over hundred accreditation cards have been issued.The Chief Election Commissioner briefed the observer group about election process and the preparations of the commission for its conduct. The chairman of the observer group appreciated the preparations of the commission for the peaceful conduct of the elections.Source: Radio Pakistan
