Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has announced that the Indian BJP government, along with its appointed Lieutenant Governor-led regime, has launched a campaign against the unarmed populace of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Radio Pakistan, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas issued a statement in Srinagar condemning India’s actions. He highlighted that previous inhuman, brutal, and immoral tactics by India had failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for self-determination and predicted the same outcome for current measures. The APHC has called upon the international community to intervene and resolve the Kashmir dispute promptly to protect the Kashmiri people from ongoing repression.
In another development, India has intensified its repressive measures in Shopian, within the occupied region, by seeking to revoke the bail of 13 individuals charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This law, criticized globally for its misuse against political activists and journalists, is employed by the Modi administration to suppress dissenting voices in the area.
Additionally, Mehbooba Mufti, President of the Peoples Democratic Party, has reiterated her demand for the reopening of traditional cross-Line of Control trade and travel routes. She stated that Jammu and Kashmir have been ‘locked in a cage’ since the abrogation of Article 370. Her comments reflect the growing discontent in IIOJK over the continued restrictions imposed by New Delhi on political freedoms, trade, and cross-border connectivity.
