Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has hailed the equal representation of all provinces in the Federal Constitutional Court, as outlined in the 27th Constitutional Amendment, as a historic achievement. In a session of the National Assembly, he lauded the government for accommodating the PPP’s demands, underscoring that this move aligns with the Charter of Democracy.
According to Radio Pakistan, the PPP Chairman expressed appreciation for the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and the armed forces, acknowledging their global recognition following a significant victory over India. He highlighted that the rank of Field Marshal is now constitutionally protected under the new amendment.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also called for increased collaboration among political parties, advocating for a move towards Truth and Reconciliation, as stipulated in the Charter of Democracy, to mitigate political divisions.
He strongly condemned recent terrorist activities in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaffirming Pakistan’s resilience against such threats. He emphasized the nation’s capacity to overcome terrorism through unity and determination, as demonstrated by past sacrifices.
During the session, Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also highlighted the importance of devolving power to the grassroots level.
