Aurangzeb Directs Implementation of Inflation Control Measures


Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved a grant of 2.5 billion rupees for the establishment of the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park under the Pakistan Navy. The ECC, which convened in Islamabad with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presiding, also sanctioned 45 million UAE dirham, available in rupee cover with the Frontier Works Organization, to settle an overdraft facility utilized by the FWO for its overseas construction operations in the United Arab Emirates.



According to Radio Pakistan, the committee consented 455.984 million rupees for the Election Commission of Pakistan to meet expenditures related to the conduct of Local Government Elections during fiscal year 2025-26. The installation of individual electricity meters in the Pakistan Mint Residential Colony also received ECC approval.



Additionally, the committee approved 21.5 million rupees for the procurement of spare parts for helicopter maintenance by Headquarters Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) during the current fiscal year. Responding to a presentation at the meeting, the Finance Minister directed all concerned ministries and provincial authorities to ensure effective implementation of the recommended measures for price stabilization and inflation control.
