APHC Slams BJP-Led Indian Government for Fostering Fear in IIOJ&K

Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar has said the ongoing illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, along with its blatant aggression against the Kashmiris, has plunged the entire region into a constant state of instability and uncertainty. He condemned the brutal tactics of the Indian forces, stating that they have made life unbearable for the Kashmiris. Abdul Rashid Minhas also criticized the BJP-led Indian government for mobilizing Hindu extremist groups, under the protection of the Indian army and paramilitary forces, to target Kashmiris and create an atmosphere of fear and terror in the territory.

According to Radio Pakistan, the APHC urged India to abandon its unrealistic stance and fulfill commitments to the Kashmiri people by granting them their inalienable right to self-determination. The administration in the Ladakh region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, under the control of the New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor, imposed strict restrictions in Leh district today to prevent a peaceful protest march. The march was called by the Leh Apex Body to express solidarity with the families of four protesters killed by Indian forces on the twenty-fourth of the last month.

The march was also aimed at demanding statehood for Ladakh, the implementation of the Sixth Schedule, and the immediate release of detained youth. However, the district magistrate issued orders to halt the march, enforcing widespread restrictions in the district. In addition, Chering Dorjay Lakrok, the co-chairman of the Leh Apex Body, was placed under house arrest, and internet services were suspended across the Ladakh region.

Meanwhile, in Srinagar’s Solina area, locals staged a massive protest against the occupying Indian administration’s anti-people policies. The IIOJK Congress chapter also held a protest outside its party headquarters in Srinagar, demanding the restoration of statehood.
