Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter organized a special event in Islamabad on Saturday to mark Pakistan's Defence Day and paid glowing tributes to 1965 martyrs.
According to Radio Pakistan, the event was presided over by senior Hurriyat leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, while renowned military analyst retired General Javed Aslam Tahir attended as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers said sacrifices of Pakistan's brave soldiers turned the day into a golden chapter of military history and a lasting symbol of national dignity, bravery and sacrifice.
On the other hand, posters featuring the image of Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were put up across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Pakistan Defence Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, these posters were displayed by various pro-freedom organizations in different areas of the Valley and Jammu region.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the installation of a board bearing the Ashoka emblem at the Hazratbal Dargah in Srinagar by the Indian occupation authorities, calling it a blatant violation of Islamic teachings.
