Islamabad: Prime Minister's Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, has announced that the polio eradication program in Pakistan has undergone a complete revamp with the goal of achieving a polio-free nation by mid-next year. In a conversation with a private news channel, Farooq detailed the comprehensive changes made to the program to ensure its effectiveness. According to Radio Pakistan, all elements of the polio eradication initiative have been overhauled, including surveillance, communication, and operations. This new approach integrates efforts from federal, provincial, and district authorities, aiming for a more coordinated strategy in eliminating polio from the country. Farooq expressed her confidence in the revamped program, asserting that Pakistan is on track to achieve a zero-polio status soon, thanks to the enhanced collaboration and strategic planning among various governmental levels.
