Islamabad: Analysts have praised Pakistan's pivotal diplomatic role in brokering a ceasefire between Iran and the United States. Amb. A M Shahid, a former diplomat, emphasized that Pakistan undertook all necessary steps to secure the truce. While U.S. Vice President JD Vance cautioned that the peace is fragile and contingent upon Iran's actions, Shahid believes that the success of the truce hinges on both parties, Iran and the U.S. He commended the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, alongside countries like Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and China. Shahid noted that despite previous skepticism, Pakistan's success in bringing both parties to the negotiation table marks a significant achievement.According to Radio Pakistan, Amb. Waheed Ahmad, another former diplomat, expressed optimism that the Islamabad talks would resolve most issues between the U.S. and Iran. Ahmad urged Indian media to acknowledge Pakistan's constructive role in the Middle East conflict, a stance that has garnered international recognition.
