Islamabad: Dr. Manzoor Afridi, an International Relations expert, has highlighted the impact of the ongoing conflict in Iran on global energy supplies, emphasizing the importance of austerity measures.According to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Afridi pointed out that this global energy crisis has significantly affected Pakistan, necessitating immediate action to conserve energy. In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's government has introduced several austerity measures, including declaring Fridays as official holidays and transitioning educational institutions to online classes.These steps are part of a broader strategy to mitigate the crisis's impact, and there is widespread national support for these government initiatives. Pakistan has also been active on the diplomatic front, making concerted efforts to address both regional and global issues related to the conflict. Notably, Islamabad has facilitated dialogues among friendly nations, with both Iran and the United States expressing satisfaction with Paki stan's diplomatic interventions.The international community has acknowledged Pakistan's role in promoting peace amidst the Middle East conflict. Dr. Afridi stressed that war is not a viable solution, urging the United States to lift sanctions on Iran and cease arms supplies to Israel, advocating for peace and stability in the Gulf region.
