Islamabad: Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Dr. Ali Larijani, has described Pakistan and Iran as influential regional states with complementary roles. Briefing Pakistani media in Islamabad, he emphasized Iran’s readiness to assist in easing tensions between Islamabad and Kabul, expressing hope that regional challenges could be resolved through rational dialogue.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dr. Larijani highlighted the presence of militant groups along the shared border between Pakistan and Iran. He called for enhanced intelligence cooperation and the creation of a joint security mechanism to address these security concerns effectively.
