Zafar Butt stresses meaningful Pak-India dialogue

Srinagar, January 17, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman, Zafar Akbar Butt, accompanied by Maulana Abdul Rashid, Maulana Mushtaq Ahmad. Javed Ahmad Butt and Aijaz Beg, today, visited several areas of Srinagar under mass contact programme. Zafar Akbar Butt addressing the corner meetings, hoped that very soon Indo-Pak secretaries would meet and take forward the dialogue process initiated last year.

He said that meaningful and result-oriented talks between the nuclear armed countries was imperative for resolving the decades-old Kashmir dispute that had endangered peace in South Asia and was the main cause of tension between India and Pakistan.

However, he said that Pak-India dialogue would never yield positive results till the primary party of the dispute- Kashmiris are involved in the process. Zafar Butt said that hostile situation would never allow the countries to prosper and for that matter had potential to hit the economic progress of whole South Asia. During the visit, Zafar Akbar Butt visited Peerbagh in Srinagar and expressed shock over the brutal murder of a youth.

He prayed for the deceased and demanded fair probe into the murder. He also condemned the use of brutal force on people protesting peacefully and demanding fair probe into the killing. He said some 14 years ago a youth, Ashiq Ahmad hailing from the same locality was disappeared by the forces in custody and still family is waiting for the justice.
