Yasin Malik, associates detained in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik along with dozens of party activists as they tried to march towards Lal Chowk to protest against the expulsion of Kashmiri students from a Meerut University in India.

JKLF Chairman, Yasin Malik who had announced to protest in Lal Chowk calling the Meerut university move as unacceptable led a anti-India protest demonstration from Maisuma. Indian police detained them at Akhara building near Budshah chowk.

The protesters also raised slogans like “Go India Go” and we want freedom. Police shifted them to Kothi Bagh police station. Pertinently, 67 Kashmiri students were rusticated from Swami Vivekanand University Meerut for cheering Pakistani cricket team against a game with India.
