Srinagar, June 07, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that India and its puppet authorities cannot suppress the Kashmiri people into submission through jails, torture and other oppressive means.
After appearing before a TADA court in Srinagar in a 29-year old concocted case, Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing people outside the court said that the Kashmiris would not budge an inch from their just demand of freedom from India. He said, no Kashmiri can remain silent over issues like construction of Israeli-type settlements in the name of Pandits and Indian soldiers, implementation of East India Company-type Industrial policy and oppression on Jammu Muslims.
Earlier, Muhammad Yasin Malik was produced before the court, today, where he said that police had launched a murderous attack on him, his family and residents of Maisuma area during nocturnal raid on his house. He said that police tortured his old mother, ailing sister and elders in the area. The court sent him to Central Jail Srinagar till 11th June.
On the other hand, the illegally detained Chief Organizer of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Altaf Ahmad Shah, was hospitalized after his health deteriorated during police custody in Srinagar. The authorities shifted the illegally detained Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party, Hilal Ahmed War, from Kothi Bagh Police Station to Srinagar Central Jail.
The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement deplored that the BJP-PDP regime was imposing restrictions on media to prevent it from highlighting the problems faced by the Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, Indian Army, police and Central Reserve Police Force have admitted that India was losing war in the occupied territory. The Indian Army’s General Officer Commanding 16 Corps, Lt. Gen D.S. Hooda, IG Operations CRPF, Nalin Prabhat and a senior police officer in their interviews admitted that they had failed to win hearts and minds of the Kashmiri people.
