Lahore, May 26, 2016 (PPI-OT):With a view to review the security arrangements for 312 Sasta Ramadan Bazaars being established in Punjab on the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, a high level meeting was chaired by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore today. All senior concerned police officers attended the meeting.
While giving detail briefing regarding the deployment for these Sasta Ramadan Bazar, Addl: IGP Operations / Investigation Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz told that 2354 police officials will perform the security duties inclusive of 1427 lower subordinates and 431 upper subordinates whereas 496 lady constables will also be deployed around these bazaars with a view to search the ladies at walk through gates and overall the security monitoring of lady shoppers.
Provision of security gadgets for these bazaars, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz told the IGP that 81 walk through gates and 503 metal detectors have already been provided to districts for the purpose. IGP also directed the officers to ensure the traffic management during the timings of these bazaars as per already issued SOP. He also directed that all DPOs and SPs will remain in constant liaison with the traffic staff so that the flow of traffic should be maintained and the shoppers can avail this opportunity of Sasta bazaars provided by the government without any disturbance.
There will be 31 Sasta Ramadan Bazaars in Lahore, 12 Sheikhupura, 06 Nankana Sahib, 12 Kasur, 16 Gujranwala, 04 Hafizabad, 10 Gujrat, 04 M.B. Din, 06 Sialkot, 06 Narowal, 19 Rawalpindi, 06 Attock, 05 Jhelum, 07 Chakwal, 13 Sargodha, 08 Khushab, 07 Mianwali, 09 Bhakkar, 18 Faisalabad, 08 Jhang, 05 T.T Singh, 08 Chiniot, 10 Multan, 03 Lodhran, 05 Khanewal, 04 Vehari, 08 Sahiwal, 09 Okara, 04 Pakpattan, 04 D.G. Khan, 05 Rajanpur, 08 Muzaffargarh, 05 Layyah, 12 Bahawalpur, 06 Bahawalnagar and in Rahim Yar Khan there will be 09 Ramadan Sasta Bazaars.
