Whereabouts of detained persons to be informed immediately to relatives: Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi

Karachi, July 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi Secretary Home Department Sindh has asked the Inspector General of Police that the whereabouts of detained persons should be informed to their relatives without any delay.

Taking serious notice of the complaints that the officials of law enforcement agencies are not helping the citizens about the whereabouts of the persons picked up for investigation purpose, the Home Secretary asked the officials that such type of complaints should immediately be attended professionally in the interest of the justice and to rid the government from earning bad name.

Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi has emphasized the need for effective coordination between different law enforcement agencies particularly during attending the cases pending in the courts.

The Home Secretary said that criminals would always take advantage due to ineffective coordination between officials of different law enforcement agencies while senior government officers also faced embarrassment.

Dr. Niaz Ali Abbasi has asked the officials of law enforcement agencies that Joint InvestigationTeam should complete the interrogation within 07 days so that innocent persons should not be detained unnecessarily.
