Islamabad, April 29, 2014 (PPI-OT): Ukranian Ambassador to Pakistan H.E.Volodymyr Rakomov called on Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain here at Ministry of Defence Production today. Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said “Pakistan fully shares the difficult situation Ukraine is passing through these days. We want Ukraine to utilize its capability in defence production as it has much to offer to countries in this regard”.
Pakistan also shared the concerns regarding delays in existing contracts on which Ukraine assured that despite all propaganda by ‘ not so friendly states’, Ukraine will continue to progress. Ambassador appreciated the concerns of Minister on the situation in Ukraine however added that “All factories are in full swing and there are no problems of legitimacy in Ukraine as portrayed”.
He added that our friendship must continue and we should keep working in the right directions. “All our factories and defence production industries are safe and no penetration of any sort”, he added. Upon the concerns in delaying of projects at the end of Ukraine, Ukraine assured that the problems are due to some manufacturing delays and they are being rectified. He further stated that the supplies will start soon.
Pakistan side was represented by Secretary Defence Production Lt. Gen (Retd) Tanvir Tahir and Additional Secretary alongwith Minister. They also raised an issue of allowing different firms to interact as one firms interaction is not in benefit of both Ukraine and Pakistan. Ukraine also showed interest in IDEAS 2014 adding that Ukraine will participate with full zest and fervor.” we hope that our pavilion will be the second largest after China” Ambassador added.
