Srinagar, September 25, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the illegally detained Secretary General of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that war is no solution to any dispute. Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that dialogue was the only way to resolve every issue besides paving the way for mutual understanding.
He said that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked of eradicating poverty and unemployment, and spreading education which was good but such moves required conducive atmosphere which was possible only when contentious issues were sorted out in a sincere and decent way.“Modi expressed grief over the killing of 18 soldiers in Uri attack but didn’t ask the people of Kashmir how they feel. “Indian forces killed 95 people in just 78 days and blinded 300 children and women by the use of pellet gun besides injured thousands,” he said.
Shabbir Shah said following the killing of 18 soldiers, the whole country is pleading for war and Pakistan is threatened of revenge but the real issue – Kashmir – isn’t even talked about. “And those who want the issue resolved are being put behind bars, killed, and persecuted. The people of Jammu Kashmir too are desirous of a peaceful subcontinent but this is impossible without addressing the core issue.
Today, if India and Pakistan are on the verge of war, it is due to Kashmir, the dispute which has heavily affected the economy of both nations,” he said. Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson expressing resentment over the use of brute force on people by forces and arbitrary arrests carried out by police said such measures won’t yield any positive results.
