Vice Chancellor appoints Dr Rass Masood Khan as Registrar Punjab University

Lahore: Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has appointed Chairman Department of Botany Prof Dr Rass Masood Khan as Registrar Punjab University. He will assume his charge as Registrar on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. A notification has been issued in this regard.

Dr Rass Masood Khan did his PhD from Punjab University in Botany in 1984 and did research on “Sedimentary and Strategraphical Palynology.” He has been remained Post-doctoral Fellow from 1992-1993 at the Department of Plant Biology, Ohio State University, USA.

Dr Rass Masood was selected for Gold Medal and Fellow Award by the Punjab Geological Society in 1998 for contributing significantly in Palaeozoic and Mesozoic Palynology. He was also awarded Best Teacher Award by the Punjab University in 2002 and 2004.

He is Editor of Pakistan Journal of Geology published by PU Geological Society. He has participated in 17 national and international seminars/workshops/symposiums. His 68 research papers have been published on various key issues. 10 PhD and 11 MS/MPhil students have completed their research theses under the supervision of Dr Rass Masood.
