Veterinary doctors should be appointed in cattle markets: Sindh Minster for livestock and fisheries

Karachi, September 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minster for livestock and fisheries Jam khan Shoro has said that veterinary doctors should be appointed in cattle markets before the eve of Eid-ul-Uza and if any disease effected animal sold, then that animal would be declared as non-saleable.

While presiding over a high level meeting of Livestock and Fisheries department he said all animals would be fully examined before the sale in cattle markets, for the medical check-up of animals, doctors would be appointed by livestock and fisheries department. He said without medical certificate, sale of animals would not be allowed.

He directed to the officers of the department that animal check- up medical booths should be established at the entrances of the cattle markets and the appointments of the doctors should be ensured.

He said veterinary doctors would be present round the clock in the medical booths and all doctors would perform their duties in their respective shifts. Provincial Minster further said that if any broker attempt to sale sick animal then legal action would be taken against them as well as heavy penalty would be charged. Officers of the department appraised Provincial Ministers about the planning structures and schedule during the meeting. On this occasion secretary livestock, Director General and other officers of the department were also present.
