Untoo asks court to probe Omar’s role in 2010 killings

Srinagar, March 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, renowned human rights activist and Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights, Mohammad Ahsan Untoo has demanded judicial inquiry against former puppet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and former police officer, Ashiq Bukhari for their role in the killings during 2010 uprising in the territory. Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a letter to the chief justice of high court said that the due was involved in the killing of 23 innocent students of district Srinagar mostly minors. “They misused the state machinery and power in violation of laws of the land and international laws,” the letter says.

Ahsan Untoo said that the victims along with the applicant had been trying to get justice for the past five years by going pillar to post, but to no avail. The rights activist called upon the court to form a judicial commission to initiate investigation about the role of chief minister and SSP in the 2010 killings. The former SSP, Ashiq Bukhari, in a media interview had made startling revelations about the role of Omar Abdullah as chief minister in the killings.
