Uninterrupted services and supply of contraceptives should be ensure in remote areas of province: Mumtaz Jakhrani

Karachi, January 03, 2017 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Department Mir Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani chaired the departmental meeting at his office today.

The meeting was attended by secretary population welfare department Mr. Laiq Ahmed, and other officers of the Department.

During the meeting, Secretary Laiq Ahmed briefed minister about the progress, working and achievements of set targets. He informed that in compliance of the FP2020 commitments, Sindh government efficiently moving to attain its goals.

He further told that, Sindh population welfare department has increased its budget for procurement of contraceptives, inter alia, medicines and health services packages. All these efforts and strategies prove that we are on right path towards our targets.
Minister Population welfare department directed secretary PWD to strengthen its network at grass root level in remote areas of each district in Sindh province so that the women from these underprivileged areas get benefits from these services. He added that rural women need extra attention of government as they are lack of information and communication facilities as compared to urban areas.

Mumtaz Jakhrani also urged that uninterrupted supply of contraceptives should be ensured in rural areas of province.
