Lahore, April 20, 2016 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister for Zakat and Usher Malik Nadeem Kamran has said that under Sustainable Economic Empowerment Programme of deserving persons, four crore seven lakh fifty three thousand five hundred rupees are being distributed among deserving persons of six districts of the province. He said that three more districts are being included in the second phase under this programme as a result of which number of deserving persons will increase to 622 whereas financial assistance will be increased to five crore, sixty nine lakh, seventy eight thousand and five hundred rupees.
He said this while presiding over a meeting held regarding Sustainable Economic Empowerment Programme of deserving persons in his office, here today. Administrator Zakat Muhammad Yousuf Butt and other officers were present on the occasion. Malik Nadeem Kamran said that government is determined to rehabilitate deserving persons on permanent basis and all out resources and energies are being utilized in this regard.
Malik Nadeem Kamran said that Rs. 67 lakh 77 thousand were given to 57 deserving persons of Lahore, Rs.51 lakh to 51 of Sheikhupura, Rs.68 lakh to 68 of Attock, Rs.91 lakh to 91 of Sahiwal, Rs.63 lakh 10 thousand to 74 of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rs.66 lakh 66 thousand five hundred to 93 of Bahawalpur during 2014-15. He further told that scope of this programme is being expanded and Sialkot, Muzaffargarh and Mianwali are included in it.
