UN urged to stop India from dictating world body

Srinagar, July 23, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, severely criticizing the attempts of closing down of United Nations office in New Delhi by India, Hurriyet Conference Jammu Kashmir leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, has urged international community to take a strong note of the issue and direct India to avoid dictating its terms to international institutions.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “I feel satisfied that UN has taken the issue seriously and it once again came to fore that Kashmir issue is still on UN agendas and the institution is keeping a close vigil on each and every development with regard to the Kashmir issue.”

Shah further said, “I hope UN will send its emissary to New Delhi and direct India to refrain from such steps as UN institutions enjoy significant status in every country and cannot succumb to dictation from any country.”

“UN should, as soon as possible, find a solution to this longstanding issue by implementing the resolutions passed in this regard,” Shah said.
