UK parliament moved for resolution of Kashmir dispute

London, March 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Chairperson of All-Party Parliamentary Kashmir Group (APPKG) in the UK Parliament, Debbie Abrahams, has submitted a resolution in the Parliament seeking settlement of the Kashmir dispute and an end to uncertainty between Pakistan and India.

The resolution said that the unresolved Kashmir dispute was the main cause of tension between the two nuclear neighbours and its settlement could bring progress and prosperity in the region. The resolution asked the UK government and Parliament to play their moral role in resolution of the Kashmir dispute so that the people of Kashmir could be given an opportunity to spend their life according to their aspirations.

Earlier, the Chairman of Parliamentary Group on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), created in the UK parliament, Faisal Rasheed, in collaboration with other members, filed a motion in the parliament. The motion said the tense situation between India and Pakistan can cause a full-fledged war which can also endanger the world peace; therefore, the international community should come forward for mediation between the two nuclear powers.

It is to be mentioned here that on February 27, both Houses of the UK Parliament had discussed, in detail, the tension between Pakistan and India with reference to the Kashmir dispute. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Right to Self-determination, Raja Najabat Hussain has thanked the members of both the Houses of the UK Parliament for taking interest in settlement of the Kashmir dispute and struggle for reducing tension between Pakistan and India.

He appealed to the Kashmiris settled in Britain to urge the members of Parliament of their constituencies through their letters and e-mails to support both the resolutions submitted in the Parliament so that once again the Kashmir dispute may come under discussion.
