Rawalpindi: Two Foreign delegations, let by Commander Royal Jordanian Naval Forces, Brig Gen Qasem Fadeel Nahar Tanashat and Commander of Sri Lankan Air Marshal H.D Abeywickrama, called on Minister for Defence, Ch. Ahmad Mukhtar at Mod on 21st February. Pakistan enjoys significant diplomatic and defence relations with both countries and wants to enhance it in the economic sector as well.
Besides transfer of military hardware for capacity building, the Minister for Defence urged on both delegations to explore avenues in Pakistan, where Jordan and Sri Lanka can benefit from our defence production and military training expertise. He also emphasized on both delegations to pursue existing MoUs Agreements relating to defence cooperation more vigorously for mutual benefit of all members.
Heads of both delegations individually thanked the Minister for Defence for their warm hospitality extended to them during their visit to Pakistan. While appreciating the indigenous defence potential of Pakistan, role and sacrifices of its armed forces in war on terror was also acknowledged. The delegations departed with optimism that their visit to Pakistan will prove useful in boosting military relationship further, both in terms of equipment and training.
In the end, souvenirs were exchanged between the Minister for Defence and the visiting delegations.
