Two-day Syed Hajver Tasawwaf Seminar to begin at Punjab University today

Lahore: Punjab University Department of Arabic in collaboration with Provincial Ministry of Religious Affairs and Auqaf, Punjab will organize two-day Syed Hajver Tasawwaf Seminar, in connection with 968th annual Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh, at Punjab University on January 10-11, 2012.

The inaugural session of the Seminar will be held on Tuesday, January 10 at 9:30am in the Al-Raazi Hall of Centre for Undergraduate Studies, New Campus. President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan will preside over the inaugural session while Provincial Minister of Religious Affairs and Auqaf Haji Ehsan-ud-Din Qureshi will be the chief guest. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Chairman Arabic Department Dr Khalid Dad Malik, Secretary Religious Affairs and Auqaf Muzaffar Mahmood, Director General Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari, faculty members and a large number of students will also be present on the occasion.

President PU Hajveri Chair Dr Zahoor Ahmad Azhar will read his paper. Sajjada Nasheen/Khadim Dargah Khawaja Moeen-ud-Din Chishti Ajmer Sharif, India Pir Sarwar Chishti will preside over second session of the seminar while Provincial Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman will be the chief guest. The second day of the seminar will be reserved for women, which will be conducted at Gender Studies Department.
