Tributes paid to Hameed Wani on martyrdom anniversary

Srinagar, April 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, pro-liberation leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to S Hamid Wani on his 15th martyrdom anniversary. Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, at a meeting held in Srinagar, today, describing Wani a sincere leader and great son of soil said that the martyred leader devoted his whole life to the cause of Kashmir.

The speakers on the occasion reiterated the pledge to take the mission of martyrs to its logical conclusion.

The Chairperson of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Yasmeen Raja said that the brutal measures used by the authorities to suppress the freedom movement would not succeed.

S Hamid Wani was arrested by the Indian police and killed in custody on 18th April in 1998 at Soura in Srinagar.
