Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to increase Trade ties with Russia

Karachi, March 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): TDAP has planned to increase trade ties with Russia. On Wednesday, Mr. Abid Javed Akbar, Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan had a meeting with Mr. Andrey Demidov, Consul General, Consulate General of Russian Federation, Karachi in the office of TDAP. During the meeting booth sides agreed to the need of increasing trade activity between the two countries. Chief Executive, TDAP Mr. Abid Javed Akbar informed the Consul General about the activities carried out by TDAP in Russia.

TDAP participates in four (4) specialized exhibitions related to textiles and food sector in Russia. As a result of these activities, exports of Pakistan in these sectors has started registering a positive growth. Chief Executive, TDAP requested the Consul General to help the Pakistani exporters in connection with major trading and buying houses in Russia.

The Consul General agreed to the recommendations of Chief Executive and indicated that Russia may organize a Single Country Exhibition at Karachi Expo Centre. Chief Executive, TDAP assured them of all cooperation and assistance in this regard. Mr. Abid Javed Akbar also briefed the Consul General about Expo Pakistan – 2013 and invited major Russian trading and buying houses as well as individual businessmen to visit the event.
