Srinagar, August 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people gathered in Bandipora, today, to pay glowing tributes to the martyred commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, on his Chehlum (the 40th day of mourning).
Eyewitnesses said that the people from villages of Kaloosa, Watpora, Sheikh Mohalla, Onagam, Papchan, Pazalpora and Nowpora, took to the streets and held special prayers for Burhan Wani, who was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on July 8.
They said that the tents and shamyanas were erected at various places to accommodate the flow of people who came to participate in the prayers meet for the martyred commander. Women also participated in the observance.
The participants sang hymns to praise Burhan Wani for his valour and courage. They also raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans during the protests.
