Lahore, June 08, 2016 (PPI-OT):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while addressing a meeting through video link from London said that there is a need for improvement in the system of production and supply of quality medicines. He said that institutions concerned will have to play an active role for ensuring supply of quality medicines to hospitals and a comprehensive mechanism will have to be adopted for storage of medicines in a proper manner.
He said that all out efforts will be made for curbing substandard and spurious drugs. The Chief Minister directed authorities concerned to adopt effective measures with regard to drug regularity mechanism. The meeting considered various proposals for improving the system of production and supply of quality medicines.
Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, Parliamentary Secretary Khawaja Imran Nazir, Additional Chief Secretary, concerned secretaries, senior officials attended the meeting from Civil Secretariat, while Chief Executive Officer Drug Regularity Authority of Pakistan from Islamabad and concerned officers participated in the meeting from Chief Minister’s Office through video link.
