Islamabad: The Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Dr Mohammad Mukhtar has said that very soon diploma and degree courses on Human Rights Education in different disciplines, in the university will be introduced. The Seminar which was organized by Higher Education Commission in collaboration with Fazaldad Human Rights Institute on the topic “Role and Responsibilities of Youth in Promoting Human Rights Education”
Simultaneously, Islamia University Bahawalpur in collaboration with Higher Education Commission will hold a national conference on Human Rights. The Vice Chancellor, Higher Education Commission and Fazaldad Human Rights Institute were addressing on the topic of Human Rights related to the young generations and their responsibilities.
The seminar was held at the Faculty of Arts where Chairman Fazaldad Human Rights Institute Mr. Naeem Sarfraz gave a special lecture on “Role and Responsibilities of Youth in promoting Human Rights Education” A large number of students and faculty members were present on the occasion.
Mr. Naeem Sarfraz Chairman Fazaldad Human Rights Institute in his lecture said that this world has now become a global village and anything happening against Human Rights, anywhere in the world becomes known. He averred that as a matter of fact all prophets proclaimed the same message emphasizing human rights to the mankind.
In his last sermon on the occasion oh Hajjat ul Wida, Prophet Mohammad PBUH gave a clear example, where He declared all people equal to each other without the discrimination of colour and creed.
Quran Majeed declares equality of mankind, rights of each individual, man, woman and child so much so that it gives its dictates on inheritance. Same is the case with the constitution of Pakistan. Furthermore in all respects and all affairs whatever be there imports or effect, the importance of human rights is paramount.
While addressing the student he stressed upon them the need for them to be flag bearers of Human Rights and assume the role of vanguard in the direction and service of a society based on the universal principals of unity and fraternity.
They should have a margin of tolerance and while recognizing the importance of the difference of opinions, should become a responsible citizen. On this occasion Dean of the Faculty of Arts Dr Najeeb Jamal thanked the Chief Guest and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. At the end of the ceremony the Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Mukhtar presented the Chairman Fazaldad Human Rights Institute Mr. Naeem Sarfraz with a memorial shield.
