Lahore: This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mohammad Habib-ur-Rahman while addressing to Senior Police Officers, media and public representatives at District Police Office Hafizabad, today.
RPO Gujranwala Mohammad Ameen wains, DPOs of Jhang, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Chaniot and Gujrat districts were also present on this occasion.
Provincial Police Chief said that all possible steps would be adopted to make police department corruption free. He said that only professional, dedicated and bold police officers/officials could perform their duties in fields. He further said that Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif assigned him the task to ensure the provision of justice to the people of the Punjab.
Criminals have no space in the province, he added. He said that all police officers/officials will give commendation certificates and cash reward for excellent performance in recovering renowned local businessman Mohammad Yameen, who was kidnapped for Rs. 5 crore ransom. IGP also appealed to the media to cooperate with the police department and strengthen its hands for curbing the crimes.
Earlier, on his arrival at DPO’s office a smart contingent of the police presented guard of honour to IGP.
Later, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mohammad Habib-ur-Rahman reached Gujranwala. He made surprise visit of various police stations of the division. He discussed the crime and law and order situation of Gujranwala Division with the RPO Gujranwala Mohammad Ameen Wains. He directed the RPO Gujranwala to adopt all positive measures to make this business hub more secure for the business community and the general public. Later, IGP visited Police Station Sohdara. He gave cash award Rs. 5 thousand to Inspector and Rs. 2 thousand to Morrar of the P.S Sohdara for their best performance.
