Srinagar, April 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the illegal arrest of Hurriyet leaders and demanded their immediate release. The Tehreek-e-Hurriyet spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the illegal arrest of Hurriyet leaders, Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Bilal Ahmad Yatoo, Mufti Abdul Ahad Tarzoo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Gooru and Mohammad Ashraf Sofi had proved the authorities’ frustration.
He said that the Indian police had launched a fresh crackdown on the Hurriyet leaders and activists in north and south Kashmir for opposing the authorities’ decision and peacefully protesting against the proposed move of creating separate units for the Kashmiri Pandits in the territory.
“Tehreek-e-Hurriyet has been the prime target of the previous Omar Abdullah regime and the Mufti administration seems to be no different in targeting us,” he said. The spokesman said that the organization was voice of the people of Kashmir so it could neither be suppressed by the arrests nor could it be silenced by force.
