Washington D.C, July 24, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi met Mr. Tony Blinken, Deputy National Security Adviser at the White House today. The Special Assistant was accompanied by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the state of the bilateral relationship and expressed complete satisfaction over the positive momentum and continued high level exchanges between the two countries. The two sides also reaffirmed their mutual desire to further expand and deepen the Pakistan-US partnership aimed at achieving peace, security and prosperity for the two peoples and the broader region.
The Special Assistant briefed the Deputy National Security Adviser on the ongoing military operation in the Waziristan region. He also briefed him on present Government’s outreach to Pakistan’s neighbours and its commitment to maintaining cordial relations with all its neighbors, including Afghanistan and India.
He also apprised the Deputy National Security Adviser of the steps taken by the Government over the last one year in implementing its economic agenda and shared the good progress made in achieving economic stability and investor confidence.
