Karachi, November 07, 2016 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that despite serious conspiracy to flare up sectarian violence in the city “our Sunni and Shia ulemas with their wisdom thwarted the move and further fostered the sectarian unity and harmony in the city for which I am thankful to all of you.” This he said while holding a meeting with a delegation of Sunni Ulemas just after holding a meeting with the delegation of Shia Ulemas. The objective of this series of meetings with religious scholars and leader is to develop sectarian harmony here at the CM House today.
The ulema delegation includes, Mufti Mohammad Naeem, Qari Mohammad Usman, Maulana Hamadullah Shah, Maulana Rafi-ur-Rehman, Maulana Adeel Shah, Maulana Qasim Abdullah, Maulana Mohammad Salfi, Mufti Saleemuddin Shanzai and others. The chief minister was assisted by Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Shah, Advisor Mola Bux Chandio, Special Assistant Dr Qayoom Soomro, IG Sindh AD Khowja, Principal Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch, Adl IG Karachi Mushtaq Maher, Commissioner Karachi Aijaz Ali Khan.
The chief minister said that some terrorists and enemies of Islam and the country have again stepped up their activities to destroy peace in the city. “I have launched ruthless and vigorous clean-up operation against the criminals and terrorists. This operation is across the board and I need your support to fight against terrorists,” he said.
The ulemas assured the chief minister of their unflinching support in his operation against the terrorists. They invited the chief minister to visit their madaris where they are imparting education to poor students. The chief minister said that the Sindh government has passed loudspeaker law and “I am thankful to you that you are supporting it and using the loudspeaker for the teaching of people and preaching Islam,” he said.
He said that operation launched against terrorists was purely against those who were working against the peace in the city. He added that the action against 93 madaris is based on intelligence reports. “There are 7427 madaris in the city, of them only 93 are involved in suspicious activities and this is not a big issue, terrorist penetrate anywhere, including important organizations and they might have penetrated into 93 madaris in question. I need your support to take action against them,” he said. The meeting ended with dua for the security and safety of the country.
