Karachi: Supply of gas was fully restored on Thursday’s evening, to entire Balochistan. SSGC’s 18 inch dia main transmission gas pipeline was blown up on Wednesday’s night near village Khudadad Jhakrani in Jaffarabad District by some unknown miscreants.
Working under the special directives of the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources to expeditiously complete the repair work, the company deployed all its resources and technical staff on the job immediately. SSGC’s team, working restlessly around the clock, replaced around 50 feet long badly damaged portion of pipeline, in highly challenging weather conditions.
After completing the welding job and ensuring all necessary technical check-ups, 114 million cubic feet gas was again injected in the system at around 5:00 pm. It is expected that full gas pressure will be restored at about 11:00 pm on 05 January 2012.
Meanwhile, after building up the desired pressure in its distribution system, SSGC management decided to restore the gas supply to all the CNG stations in its franchise area at 10:00 pm, ten hours well before the schedule announced earlier. This decision was taken to facilitate the valued customers.
