Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir confirmed Sudan’s keenness to support Somalia in all fields, with the view to achieving development and stability for its people.
This came during his meeting here on Tuesday with Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre, who was visiting Sudan to attend the signing ceremony of South Sudan’s final peace agreement.
In a press statement, Prime Minister Khayre said the meeting discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and Somalia and other issues of mutual concern. He described the meeting as fruitful and constructive.
Khayre also expressed Somalia’s appreciation of the role of President Bashir in sponsoring the negotiations between the South Sudanese rival factions leading to the signing of the power-sharing deal in the world’s youngest country. called the South Sudan peace agreement an exceptional work that affirmed the ability of the Africans to resolve their own problems.
