Student arrested for torching Indian flag in Jammu

Jammu, April 03, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police have arrested a medical student accused of setting ablaze Indian flag after India was defeated by West Indies in the World T-20 semi-final. A police official told media person that Inzamam-ul-Haq Khan, a final year student of the Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu, was accused by college students of burning Indian flag minutes after India was thrashed by West Indies in the semi-final in Mumbai late Thursday night.

As per reports, the final year student allegedly grabbed the Indian flag from one of the girl students and burnt it down minutes after the students and staff members dispersed after the match was over. The police official said that following the accusation, the college authorities suspended the student while the police also registered a case and started investigation. The student was arrested on Saturday, he added.
