State Bank of Pakistan directs Commercial Banks to install ATM machines in Federally Administered Tribal Areas

Islamabad, October 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): State Bank of Pakistan has issued a notification to all Commercial banks for installation of ATM machines in their respective branches of Khyber Agency. This was initiated on a proposal of FATA Joint Parliamentarian Leader and Member National Assembly Mr. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi. This step has been adopted for the provision of better financial facilities in the tribal areas so that local people may be able to make easy financial transactions.

Mr. Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi expressed gratitude for the initiative of State Bank of Pakistan. He opined that through this facility, the people of FATA would be able to promote their business through easy transaction and other related facilities.

The State Bank of Pakistan in its notification directed all Commercial Banks of the country to start the process of installation of ATM machines from January 2013, to facilitate the account holders.
