Karachi, April 23, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Social and welfare activities can play key role in the prosperity of the people and the economic growth of our country, this was stated by Abdul Rahim Janoo, the Senior Vice President of FPCCI, on the occasion of meeting with the team of volunteers at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) was held in collaboration with the CSR Department of the FPCCI. The function is to appreciate the volunteers of Haji Razzak Janoo memorial trust which is one of the largest Free Eye Surgery and Charity Trust in Pakistan.
The team of volunteers belongs to Haji Razzak Janoo memorial trust that was established in 1989 and so far organized 239 free eye camps with the name ‘Baba Farid Free Eye Camp’ in different parts of the country. In the last 25 years this trust had conducted more than 89000 laser eye operations and 2.2 million OPDs that surely the enormous service of the people of this country. This trust is also worked internationally especially in Bangladesh.
It was informed that on yearly basis this trust had organized free eye camp at Bawalnagar, Pakpatan and Rajanpur, Hala, Mirpur, Pindigaib and in different cities of Bangladesh. The 239th free eye camp under this trust was organized recently at Rajanpur (Punjab).
The team of volunteers has shared their updates, activities and progress to Mr. Abdul Rahim Janoo, the Senior Vice President of FPCCI who appreciated their role and assured his full support. The volunteers’ team further informed that this trust is providing free medicines of best quality and free food to the poor people of this country including free Phaco Laser surgery.
On this occasion Mr. Ikram Rajput and Mr. Shahnawaz Ishtiaq Vice Presidents of FPCCI and Mr. Irfan Shaikh (former Chairman of REAP) also participated in the meeting and appreciated the role of Haji Razzak Janoo memorial trust.
Abdul Rahim Janoo, the Senior Vice President of FPCCI said the people of our country are already suffering and therefore such kind of free eye camps are beneficial and useful for the people of our country. He also hoped that ‘Baba Farid Free Eye Camp’ will continue its efforts under Haji Razzak Janoo memorial trust. In the end lunch was arranged in honour of the guests from Abdul Rahim Janoo, the Senior Vice President of FPCCI.
