Sir Syed University remain closed on 12th January to mourn the demise of Pir Saheb Pagara

Karachi: Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology has announced to remain closed on Thursday 12th January 2012 as a mark of respect to Syed Mardan Shah Pir Saheb Pagara who died the night before due to liver infection.

In his condolence message, Engr. Z.A. Nizami, Chancellor of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the sons of spiritual leader of Hurs and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. Acknowledging the invaluable political contribution of the late Pir Saheb Pagara, the Chancellor Nizami said that he would be long remembered.

Pir Saheb Pagara was the spiritual leader of Hurs and was an instrumental figure in the Pakistan politics. The senior Aligarian was nominated as first president of United Muslim League. He was Chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), and one of the most influential and respected political personalities of Pakistan. He was very famous for his predictions on politics of Pakistan.
