Sindh Wildlife Conservator visits Karachi Zoo

Karachi, January 22, 2013 (PPI-OT): Conservator Sindh Wildlife Department Hussain Baksh has expressed satisfaction over the precautionary measures taken by the panel of doctors who were assigned the task for controlling spread of virus in Karachi Zoo.

Mr. Hussain Baksh who was visiting Karachi Zoo on Tuesday at the request of KMC Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan called it a positive development that the virus which hit the deer recently in zoo had been under control.

The Sindh Conservator inspected the deer enclosure and enquired about the treatment provided to ailing deer and the precautionary measures that had been taken in this regard.

The Veterinary experts on this occasion informed him that the KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed and Chief Officer Matanat Ali Khan were personally monitoring this matter and getting daily progress report. They said that the final diagnosis would be possible only after the receiving of Tando Jam Laboratory Report. However, the zoo administration has taken effective measures which have helped controlling the virus in zoo.

The Sindh Wildlife Conservator said Karachi Zoo held importance in the whole province as this being the largest zoo in Sindh visited by people from all over the province. He on behalf of Sindh Wildlife Department assured all possible support and help to the administration of Karachi Zoo.
