Karachi, April 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): Minister for Transport Mir Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani has strongly condemned the statement of Federal Minister of Railways who opined that Karachi Circular Railway Project is Sindh Government’s Project. Provincial Minister said Karachi Circular Railway Project is being implemented by Karachi Urban Transport Corporation which is working under Federal Government. He said that KCR Project is being developed with 60 per cent share of Federal government while 40 per cent share of Sindh Government.
He said that the Provincial Government has always cooperated with federal government and provided it’s share of project in time. Sindh Government has also waived tax on the machinery being used in KCR project on the request of JAICA. Mir Mumtaz has informed that Sindh Government had sent a letter to federal government to handover the Karachi Urban Transport Company to Sindh Government but its implementation still awaited.
He said that the project is being delayed due to federal government’s apathy resulting great woes for people of Karachi. Provincial Minister said that due to injustice of Economic Affairs Division, project of Sindh government could not be completed in time adding that only project’s of Punjab are being given priority. He demanded federal government to complete Sindh Government projects and stop ignoring people of Sindh. Provincial Minister also advised Federal Minister Railway to update his knowledge before issuing such statement.
