Sindh is self-sufficient in fruits, vegetables, rice and in some other crops which can be exported to America and other countries: Sindh Chief Minister

Karachi, May 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that Sindh was self-sufficient in fruits, vegetables, rice and in some other crops which can be exported to America and other countries. Therefore, the growers may also be invited to attend the forth coming business conference being held in New York in October 2016. He said this while talking to Consul General of America in Karachi Mr Brian Heath who called on him today at CM House to invite him and his team for the Business Conference.

The Consul General inviting the Sindh Chief Minister and his team said that there would be important sectors which would be discussed in the business conference. They include information technology, education, health and agriculture. “This would be a great opportunity to tap business avenues in these sectors,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that America was most important country for Pakistan, particularly for Sindh. “American people have helped people of this province in health, education and development sectors and also extended helping hand during the heavy floods of 2010,” he said and added that after 18 constitutional amendment Sindh was free to have trade with others countries.

“America is most close friend of people of Sindh, therefore we would love to avail the opportunity to export our mangoes, rice vegetables, dates and guava there. People of Sindh have full trust in the people of USA that they would provide them the opportunity to strengthen trade in between them,” he hoped.

Senior Minister for Finance and Board of Investment, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he would talk to agriculturists and urge them to explore export opportunities in America. The Chief Minister accepting the invitation thanked the American envoy for providing an opportunity to business community and growers by organizing such a conference. Minister Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah invited the Counsel General of USA to witness the budget session next month.
