Karachi, April 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): Shaheen Ilyas Sarwana, Acting President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in a press release issued today has invited the attention of Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Governor of Sindh and Khalid Tawab, Caretaker Minister for Industries and Commerce to the host of problems being faced by the members of the S.I.T.E Super Highway Association of Industry Karachi and urged them to provide a conducive and congenial environment to the industrial units to facilitate them for undertaking their normal trade and industrial activities effectively.
The FPCCI Acting Chief elaborated that the roads’ network in the industrial area is battered and in dilapidated condition, sewerage water is overflowing from the mainholes, insufficient supply of water, frequent and protracted load shedding, low gas pressure, non existence of street lights, poor law and order situation and establishment of new police stations, increase in incidence of theft cases of electric and telephone cables, growth in illegal encroachments in the shape of “Chapra Hotel or Cabins”, heap of garbage and its non disposal on regular basis etc.
FPCCI Acting President, Shaheen Ilyas Sarwana said that the above said scenario of the Super Highway Industrial estate gives a negative signal to the potential local and foreign investors, and buyers who frequently visit the area.
He further stated that if a proper infrastructure is provided to all industrial areas they will significantly contribute in eradication of unemployment, export growth and expansion of economic activities which will bring back life to Karachi and uplift the confidence of Business Community.
