Sindh Governor inaugurates reconstruction work in Abbas Town

Karachi, April 24, 2013 (PPI-OT): Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, performed the inauguration of the reconstruction of the flats and shops damaged in the Abbas Town blast.

He said that there was no replacement for the loss of the human lives, however, every possible assistance is being extended to the affected families.

The Governor termed Abbas Town incidents as a big tragedy.He said that Allama Talib Jauhri had raised the voice for the affectees and “this, in a way, was a directive for us”. He said that the contractor has taken up the reconstruction work on no-profit no-loss basis and the work would be completed in 10 to 12 months while the building structure would be quake-proof.

The Governor directed that for the residents of Abbas Town, an alternate way would be carved out towards the Lyari Expressway.

He further pointed out that the government is bearing all the expenses. He said that in Iqra City 24 flats and 18 shops and in Rabia Flower 32 flats and 16 shops are being reconstructed.
