Sindh Government restricts movement of scholars

Karachi, November 15, 2012 (PPI-OT): Home Department, Government of Sindh has issued a notification whereas, the Government of Sindh is satisfied that keeping in view the prevailing law and order situation in Sindh is imperative to prevent the following Fire Brand Speakers/Scholars belongings to other Provinces of Pakistan from acting in a manner prejudicial to public safety and maintenance of Public Order in the Province of Sindh, it is therefore, expedient to prevent their entry in Sindh Province:

In exercise of the powers conferred u/s 5(1) (a) and (c) of the Sindh Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960, the Government of Sindh is pleased to order that the above said provocative speakers/scholars of other Provinces will not travel either by Road or Air to enter, reside or remain in Province of Sindh, this order shall remain in force for 60 days with immediate effect, the grounds of order are as under.

That there are reasons to believe that they will make inflammatory speeches or indulge in activities prejudicial to public safety and maintenance of good other in the other districts of Sindh, that their speeches, presence or other activities may promote feelings to hatred and ill will among different sects professing different School of thought and thus posing, problem of Maintenance of law and situation, they are at liberty to prefer an appeal to the Government of Sindh against this order.
